Sermon Short // 5.17.26 If you are a child of God Sermon Short // 5.17.26

If you are a child of God, the chains of sin have been broken off you.

The same power that raised Jesus from the dead lives in you, and you have the power to walk forward in purity from wherever you are at today.

Purity is possible for every follower of Jesus because:

A) God calls believers to purity.
B) God equips believers with his Holy Spirit.

This sermon clip is part of a lengthier exegetical sermon delivered in Coastal Virginia. Part of the job of every preacher is to know her audience and exhort those specific people forward. This preaching clip is designed to reach a wider Christian audience with a core application featuring a central Biblical truth. The lengthier homily was designed to challenge a specific context.
If you put yourself down for too long, others will If you put yourself down for too long, others will start to believe you.

If you make yourself the butt of the jokes, others will start to tease you.

If you dismiss your own qualifications, others will doubt your capability.

If you over apologise, others will think of you as unreliable.

If you are unkept, others will dismiss your value.

Practical Tips:
•Seek out a mentor who speaks your worth over you.
•Reflect on situations where you needlessly self-deprecated and write down healthier responses.
•Develop a list of one-liners/elevator pitches for settings that are difficult.
•Wear clean, crisp clothing to help you feel confident.
•Practice, practice, practice…

Sermon Short // 5.17.26 The Gospel is just as muc Sermon Short // 5.17.26

The Gospel is just as much for believers as it is for unbelievers.

“All have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”

“There is none righteous no not one.”

“Everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved.”

“Just as Christ was raised from the dead so you must walk in newness of life.”

“And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you.”

“If you confess your sin, He is faithful and just to forgive you of your sins and cleanse you from all unrighteousness.”

“His mercies are new every morning.”

“Beloved, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is”
What does it look like to love our enemies? What d What does it look like to love our enemies? What does it look like to remember that people have dignity and intrinsic worth? What does it look like to show kindness instead of shaming, naming, and blaming?

In our culture of constant conflict and mockery, let’s be people that carry ourselves with honor.

What a great night with @changingseasonsvb at the What a great night with @changingseasonsvb at the VA Beach Oceanfront. Our speaker was @nicolezasowski who challenged us to accelerate joy through our behavior and train our feelings to follow.

My pal Jess Cherry shined as the social media talent and content creative for this event. She is also the behind-the-scenes creative talent for so many of @springbranchwomen social posts and my co-conspirator. Give her a follow @thewelllifebyjesscherry

You know her. She has upset you. She has annoyed You know her.

She has upset you.
She has annoyed you.
She has wronged you.
She has required extra grace.
She has room to grow.

But do you let her grow?
Do you give her another chance?
Do you notice her late blooms?
Do you choose to know her only as she once was?

Are you missing out on who she is becoming?

Let her grow.
