After faithfully announcing the coming of Jesus and calling people to repent, John is thrown into prison. Jesus gains a following while John suffers. While facing turmoil, John wrestles through doubt, fear, panic, and discouragement. Ultimately, his discouragement pushes him to send a message to Jesus questioning the Messiah’s authenticity. Jesus is so cool and compassionate in his response. Not only does he lift up John, Jesus tells John a few of the ways God is working everything together for good. *** Anna Schatz is a Dallas Seminary grad, trained preacher, seasoned Bible teacher, and a pastor’s wife in Virginia Beach.
